The following patient is a 58 year old woman who came to Dr. Bain with an interesting complaint. She said that she woke up and looked in the mirror and realized that her face had changed. She realized when she looked in the mirror that day that her jowls had become very prominent. She felt that her face looked much older especially in the area of her cheeks and around her mouth. She did not feel that she was ready for a facelift. She just wanted a "weekend" lift. Most importantly, she did not want to look like she was operated on and she did not want to have to take a great deal of time off of work.
Upon further discussion, she complained that her eyes looked tired and that her brow was beginning to fall. She also did not like that her upper lip was beginning to look older and longer.
A special type of weekend facelift was performed by Dr. Bain. In addition to this, an mini brow lift was performed as was an upper lateral lip lift. Finally, her upper and lower eyelids were fixed as well.
The "weekend" facelift is a minimal incision facelift that Dr. Bain
can perform in the a surgical center with twilight sedation. Patients
can go home an hour or two after their procedure and can be back
at work soon after.
