There are a great many techniques performed around the world for restoration of the aged face. Every surgeon has his own philosophy and some state that "their technique" is the best. The truth is that there is no one technique that is the best. Every patient is different and a modification in techniques is necessary for each and every patient. You, as a patient, are not symmetric. Each side of your face is slightly different, even if only by a small amount. This goes for your eyes, mouth, nose, cheeks and even underlying facial structure (bones).

Often patients ask about the recovery time after a facelift. Dr. Bain tells patients that they will be swollen after surgery; however, the vast majority of patients experience only minor to minimal bruising. All dressings are removed the day after surgery and typically only a neck band is worn for the next few days for comfort day and night and then only while at home or at night while asleep.

Most patients are able to return to work after a full facelift with eyes and brow lift after about a week or two. It is really patient dependent. Dr. Bain and his staff are available day and night for questions or concerns. Typically, patients are given a note for work so that they can use sick days, if desired.
