The following procedure is a very popular procedure that many women are reluctant to speak about. In essence, the labia of the vagina tend to be effected by genetics, gravity and child-birth. Many women complain that their labia are not aesthetically pleasing. They complain that the labia minora (the inner pink tissue) fall below the labia majora (the outer skin) far below where they should.

The surgical procedure used to correct this is very well tolerated. Most women are well healed and resume sexual activity approximately two weeks after the procedure. Sensation does not change and if anything some women say that they become more sensitive. All of the sutures used are dissolving sutures.

Care is taken by Dr. Bain to not only to create more aesthetically pleasing labia, but to also not change the structure and function of the labia. It is important for patients considering this procedure to not take the procedure lightly. Dr. Bain plans the incisions in such a way that the function of the labia minora is not altered.

This procedure can be performed either by itself or in conjunction with any other procedure including liposuction or tummy tuck.
